2016-2017 Student Code of Conduct

October 25, 2016

Hello AWBFLA Family,

I trust this communiqué finds you and yours well. First, thank you for choosing to partner with us to educate your child. We know you have many choices when it comes to educating your child and we are glad that you selected A. W. Brown-Fellowship Leadership Academy (AWBFLA). I have said it before and will say it again, no school is perfect, but at AWBFLA we are continually striving to make our good, better and our better, the best. Not unlike any other organization, we are not immune to the discomfort that change can bring, but I am confident in the ability of our team to successfully navigate this transition. We are committed, prepared, and ready do the work it takes to be great.

You Spoke and We Listened!

We heard you loud and clear when you expressed concerns about the shift in student discipline observed this year. You have noticed the change and so have we. As a result, our entire staff participated in a complete review of our Student Code of Conduct to ensure our Code of Conduct aligned with the type of behavior expected at a leadership academy. In addition, we utilized a template to ensure the document would be in compliance with all state and federal regulations. On October 20, 2016, our Board of Director unanimously approved the updated 2016-2017 AWBFLA Student Code of Conduct. Copies of the 2016-2017 Student Code of Conduct will be: posted to our website, emailed to each family, and available in the office of each campus.

Again, thank you for allowing us to part of your village.

Wear this day well,

Dr. Laura
